OXIPRO partners GECCO and University of Groningen (RUG) were both present in full force at the high-profile Netherlands Biotechnology Congress (NBC) held on 29 September 2023 at Corpus Conference Centre in Oegstgeest.
Lars Santema – a member of Marco Faaije’s Group at RUG – successfully delivered a pitch talk on his poster and won the poster pitch award (see image).
Meanwhile, GECCO – who both sponsored and participated in the Congress, showcased its collaborative efforts with COSUN, presenting their latest work on uronic acid oxidase. In addition to the specific discovery of URAOCs3, their findings suggest that plant proteomes can be an interesting source for new biocatalysts.
