OXIPRO partners from the University of Groningen, Prof Dr Marco Fraaije and Lars Santema, recently joined over 700 attendees at BIOTRANS 2023 (16th International Symposium on Biocatalysis and Biotransformations) held on June 25-29, 2023, in La Rochelle, France.
In a satellite meeting of the B-LigZymes RISE-EU project, Lars successfully presented his work in OXIPRO on the glycerol oxidases to a captive audience.
Organized biennially from 1993, BIOTRANS 2023 offers an overview of the latest advances in the fields of biocatalysis and biotransformations, focusing on cutting-edge interdisciplinary strategies within the fields of enzyme discovery and design, reaction engineering, enzyme mechanisms, computational methods, synthetic biology, metabolic engineering, (chemo)enzymatic cascades and industrial biocatalysis.
This was a great opportunity for our OXIPRO contingent from RUG to network and exchange ideas with experts and showcase RUG’s research achievements.
