OXIPRO Researcher Wins Award at National Congress of Industrial Microbiology and Microbial Biotechnology

OXIPRO is extending enormous congratulations to Gerard Guerra Mas (UAB) for winning the best poster award at the IX National Congress of Industrial Microbiology and Microbial Biotechnology, held in Madrid from 10th – 12th June.

Gerard’s poster titled ‘Optimización de la producción recombinante en Escherichia coli de la enzima N-acetil glucosamina oxidasa en un sistema libre de antibióticos’ was viewed by many of the 200 participants attending this forum for discussion and exchange of knowledge and experiences in Industrial Microbiology and Microbial Biotechnology. Gerard represented OXIPRO alongside Marina Gulllen Montalban (UAB) who was participating in the event as an invited speaker on behalf of ENG4BIO, an organisation developing sustainable biotechnological processes and promoting responsible research, knowledge transfer to public and private sectors as well training a new generation of highly qualified scientists in the cross-disciplinary field of Industrial and Medical Biotechnology.

The Congress enables attendees to find out about the latest advances in these constantly evolving fields, and to find out how new disciplines and cutting-edge technologies are being incorporated to provide solutions to real problems in our environment.

For OXIPRO it was a chance to network with complementary initiatives and make new contacts in order to raise awareness of the benefits of our enzyme technologies for greener, more sustainable products.
